Originally from a small town in Ohio, Michelle has been a Bedford County resident since 1989 and a Smith Mountain Lake resident since 2007.
Michelle has worked in retail since 1989. She started Antique Mall at Mayberry on April Fool’s Day in 2010. It started out as a 1500 sq ft store that sold only antiques and vintage items.
Over the years, the store has evolved. On April Fool’s Day 2017, Mayberry Furniture was born. The store moved into a 7500 sq ft space in the Downtown Moneta shopping center and reinvented itself, by selling mostly new furniture, home décor, art, and sterling silver jewelry, with some antiques and vintage items sprinkled in for good measure.
Michelle offers an interesting store where you can shop for unique gifts, local artisan treasures, antiques, and beautiful things for your home.

Sarah Bidwell is an attorney and the owner of Wills on Wheels. Sarah serves the areas surrounding Smith Mountain Lake including Franklin, Bedford, Roanoke, and Henry Counties.
She first began working in the SML area as a receptionist for a law firm during the summer of 2013. After graduating from The College of William and Mary in 2014, Sarah went on to attend Washington and Lee University School of Law in Lexington, Virginia.
In May of 2017, she graduated from Washington and Lee University School of Law and returned to the SML area to serve clients with a variety of legal issues including Corporate Formation; Family Law; and Civil Litigation. An avid traveler, Sarah visited all of the Virginia State Parks in 2021 and is always looking forward to visiting new places.

Wanda is Franchisee owner of the local H&R Block office. She has over 45 years in accounting and taxes. Wanda grew up in the area, moved away and returned in 2013.

Wendy is the second generation at Smith Mountain Lake’s Hickory Hill Vineyards. She aided her parents, Roanoke natives Roger & Judy Furrow, in establishing an experimental vineyard in the early 80s and the current commercial vineyard in 1992.
Wendy earned a BS in Business Administration and a BS in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. After college, she began an IT career as a software trainer and finished as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.
Hickory Hill became Virginia’s 75th Farm Winery in 2001 and the next year Wendy left her corporate IT career to help at the winery and to bring her daughter into the world. In 2005 she took over the day to day operations with her husband, Donald Furrow-Scott.
Today, Wendy manages the vineyard and winery business wearing a variety of hats. For the last 20+ years, she has attended many VT extension courses in viticulture and winemaking and more recently earned the industry certifications WSET2 (Wine & Spirits Education Trust level 2) and CSW (Certified Specialist of Wine from the Society of Wine Educators).
In any spare moments, Wendy enjoys spending time with her family, including her dogs and 30+-year-old horse, doing various crafts such as crochet, and watching the Carolina Panthers.

In 1988 Di moved with her family from Iowa to Roanoke. Instead of going through the ‘empty nest syndrome’ when the youngest graduated from high school, she built a home on Smith Mountain Lake.
After living at the lake, she knew she wanted to help others realize the beauty and tranquility this area has to offer. In 2004, she took an early retirement from a 25+ year career in the telecommunications industry to become a full time REALTOR.

After studying computer programming and marketing in college, JoDee decided to chase her true desire of cooking and serving the community.
JoDee grew up among a family-owned restaurant rooted in 1919 and building a foundation on quality BBQ & Ribs. Uncle Tom’s BBQ created and mastered many exclusive recipes that remain in use today.
In 1991, JoDee relocated to Rocky Mount Virginia. Dedicating her life in the restaurant industry, she managed and operated the Brugh Tavern on the Blue Ridge Parkway from 2004-2009.
Alongside her brother Tommy, a new restaurant location was built in 1997 in her hometown of Rocky Mount. Ippy’s pays tribute to her father and Uncle Tom. The original recipes from 1919 remain as prime staples of Ippy’s success.

Lisa is a graduate of Franklin County High School, studied accounting at Virginia Western Community College and graduated from Virginia Banker’s School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
Lisa has been with Bank of Botetourt since 2015. The Bank Botetourt opened in 1899 and currently has 13 offices.

Erin has lived, studied, worked, and played in the SML region most of her life.
While serving on the newspaper and yearbook staffs at Franklin County High School, she found an interest in working with local businesses on advertising. While attending Ferrum College, she enjoyed an internship as Park Guide at Booker T. Washington National Monument, sharing a love of history and our beautiful region with visitors from all over the world.
Erin began her professional career by joining the advertising team of The Roanoke Times / Laker Media where she found a passion for helping others build and grow their businesses through marketing. She later joined Harrington Testing as Marketing Coordinator and was part of the WSLS-10 team.
Erin has been blessed to serve in a dream position over the past 2 years, supporting the regional business community through the SML Regional Chamber of Commerce. She loves being able to strengthen the social and economic environment and welcoming visitors to the unparalleled beauty of our region.
She enjoys volunteering as Marketing Coordinator for the Roanoke Hospitality House and as an aid station volunteer for the annual Blue Ridge Marathon. She and her family also enjoy visiting regional landmarks, attending community events, experiencing new dishes at locally owned restaurants, and exploring parks and trails throughout the region.
